Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Bearing, the goal coach that can navigate by your Persona Matrix chart. By using Bearing you agree to them.

1. The service

Bearing lets you set goals, chat with an AI coach about them, and — optionally — connect your Persona Matrix chart so the coach adapts to how you think. Bearing is currently free during beta. You can use goals and the generic coach without an account; signing in adds persistence and the chart connection.

2. Your account and content

Sign-in is passwordless via email magic link; you are responsible for access to your inbox. Your goals and chat are yours — we store them only to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The chart connection is governed by the grant you approve on Persona Matrix and is revocable there or here at any time.

3. The coach is not a professional

The coach is an AI system for goal accountability. It is not a therapist, doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor, and it is instructed to say so and step back when asked for such advice. AI output can be wrong; check anything that matters before acting on it.

4. Acceptable use

Don't probe, overload, or circumvent rate limits or access controls, and don't attempt to extract the coach's system instructions or another user's data.
Don't submit other people's personal data.
Follow all applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these rules. You may stop using Bearing at any time; see the Privacy Policy for deletion.

5. Disclaimers and liability

Bearing is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero — Bearing is free during beta) or 50 USD. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

6. Third-party marks

CliftonStrengths®, Enneagram, and MBTI® are trademarks of their respective owners; naming them describes compatibility and implies no affiliation or endorsement.

7. Changes, governing law & contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be dated above. Governing law and venue: [Thomas Wash — to be completed at incorporation].
